Reflection Week 12

Today, we learn about the visual design in website. Visual design is something design that we plan in our website such as color, fonts or styles, graphic and multimedia and attractive layout. There are some element that use to make design in website attractive that is Colors or Images, Content and Links (title, headings, sub headings, body text, illustrations, captions) and Text, images, buttons, navigation bars, animation, video, etc. Visual theme must be suitable with the background and color of the text.

The most important part is background choose whether is suitable with the color, image use as a background and the topic for that website. For the text must avoid the use of all CAPITAL LETTERS for body text. OK to use for highlighting or for titles. Avoid the use of too many font faces on one screen or throughout one site (e.g., arial, helvetica, times, courier). Provide for adequate contrast between figure and ground of the text. The third part is use the right color for the website. Avoid the use of too many colors on one screen, especially font colors. The last part is choose the image for the website.

The general issues are typography. You must ensure that typography is simple with the limit number of fonts per page and per site and use the same fonts consistently throughout the site. There are several tools in visual design such as Thumbnails Sketches is help to focus on how web pages will look. However story board is helps on web site’s interaction. The second tools are Rough Sketches usually choose 2 or 3 of the thumbnails to develop further. The another tools is Prototype.
