Reflection Week 9

Week 9 (08/02/2010)

Today, i learn about the interaction design in web design. There are three element that should be consider in interaction design that is organization, navigation and interactivity. The organization is how the information will be organized on the pages. The element of navigation is how people find their way in the website. The last element is about interactivity that means control that you as a developer give to users to work in the website.

According the Wikipedia interaction design is the study of devices with which a user can interact, in particular computer users. The practice typically centers around "embedding information technology into the ambient social complexities of the physical world. It can also apply to other types of non-electronic products and services, and even organizations. Interaction design defines the behavior (the "interaction") of an artifact or system in response to its users.

I also learn how to make our navigation in the website are effective where user can find their way, let the user know where they have been, let users know where they are in relation
to the rest of the website, provide consistent and easy to understand link.

Besides that, i also learn about the orientation in the website. Users need to know where they are in the context of the overall site structure. There are several orientation that is site map and topic paths.
